ProgramsIDEAL ChildCare (ICC) offers several programs that are tailored for parents/guardians who desire dependable and flexible childcare. One of the keys to ensure the best experience possible for your child in these programs is to ensure a great communication line. At IDEAL ChildCare Center, Directors and teachers communicate with parents in various ways including monthly newsletters, parent information boards, and parent-teacher conferences. In addition, to help build a relationship with your child, our teachers welcome the opportunity to talk with you on a daily basis about school and any exciting or challenging things that might be happening at home. Through our communication lines you will always be a part of your child’s day. IDEAL ChildCare Center offers three distinct programs. They are: 2 to 4 years old The focus of the 2-4 year old program is early childhood development. In this program we provide a unique balance between learning and play. For playtime, the 2-4 year classrooms offer a science center, art center, dramatic play area, and manipulative play center. During playtime games and dances help to develop motor skills and incorporate concepts like over, under, right, left, and backwards. These play areas offer interesting and challenging activities for your child and encourage creativity and independence. For learning, the focus is counting, colors, numbers, letters, shapes, pictures, word recognition and many various fun and educational themes. The 2-4 year old classrooms also offer a wide variety of children’s literature and writing materials. In addition, the children are read to at least twice daily. The 2-4 year old communication line includes a parent information board that includes Car Chat/Dinner Talk. Car Chat/Dinner Talk provides you with information and ways to interact with your child in the car or during dinner. Normally the interaction will include material taught throughout the day. This type of interaction provides reinforcement of lessons learned and extends the learning into your home. 5 years old The focus of the 5 year old program is to provide a curriculum to prepare your child for elementary school. To help make the transition from day care to elementary school smoother the Pre-K curriculum focuses on reading, writing, math, science, and social development, thereby helping children to become familiar with an organized environment. In Pre-K, children learn to identify letters of the alphabet and eventually learn sight words such as it, a, he, she, etc. Recognizing sight words are an important factor in helping your child's confidence as they learn to read in Kindergarten. In almost every sentence, your child will find a word they already know. Your child will also learn to:
- Print letters, write small words, and eventually write his or her first and small sentences - Draw pictures with a few varying details and express about their drawing - Express themselves orally by using words in meaningful ways to communicate with others - Recognize numbers by sight and learn to count to higher numbers Before & Aftercare The Before and Aftercare program provides fun and engaging activities for your child to choose from. The program will offer internet access, an area for children to complete homework, tutoring to assist with homework assignments, and a literature area to encourage reading. The program will also eventually offer safe and reliable transportation to and from school.
